2. How We Use Your Information

We use the information we collect to operate and improve BoatStorageFinder:

• Storage matching: Your location and vehicle type let us show you relevant storage facilities nearby.
• Email communications: If you sign up, we'll send you storage availability alerts, facility recommendations, and occasional tips. You can unsubscribe at any time (every email has an unsubscribe link).
• Site improvement: Usage data helps us understand which features are useful, fix bugs, and improve search results.
• Customer support: If you contact us, we use your information to respond.
• Security and fraud prevention: We monitor for abuse and protect against malicious activity.

3. Information Sharing

We don't sell your personal information in the traditional sense. Here's exactly how your information may be shared:

• Storage facility partners: When you search for or express interest in a specific area, we may share your contact details (name, email, location, and vehicle type) with storage facilities in that area so they can follow up with availability and pricing. This is the core service we provide — connecting you with storage providers. California residents may opt out of this sharing (see Your Rights below).
• Service providers: We work with third-party companies that help us operate the site — including email delivery, analytics, and hosting. These providers access data only as needed to perform services for us and are not permitted to use it for their own purposes.
• Legal requirements: We may disclose information if required by law, subpoena, or to protect the rights, property, or safety of our users or others.
• Business transfers: If BoatStorageFinder is acquired or merges with another company, your information may be transferred as part of that transaction. We'll notify you before your data is subject to a materially different privacy policy.

4. Your Rights (Including California Residents)

Regardless of where you live, you can contact us at any time to update or delete your information. California residents have additional rights under the California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA):

Every marketing email we send includes a one-click unsubscribe link. Once you unsubscribe, we'll stop sending marketing emails within 10 business days. We may still send transactional messages (like a response to a support inquiry) even after unsubscribing from marketing. Our emails include our mailing address in compliance with CAN-SPAM.

7. Data Retention

We keep your personal information for as long as your account is active or as needed to provide services. If you ask us to delete your data, we'll do so within a reasonable timeframe, except where we're required by law to retain certain records or where deletion would affect a transaction you initiated. Anonymized or aggregated data may be retained indefinitely for analytical purposes.

8. Children's Privacy

BoatStorageFinder is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, please contact us and we will delete it promptly.
